IM ANITa

About IM ANITa: The trio I’M ANITa was formed in 2000 by three creative musicians who were already a part of the Italian Jazz scene, as members of different formations proposing a wide variety of music genres and as collaborators of various recording studios, visual artists, cultural associations and music schools.
In 2001, next to their intense live activity, the three gave life to the project “MMM Flying Studios” (an experimental travelling recording studio which aims to immortalize musicians’ works and the sounds of the most varied social contexts).
In 2002 they recorded and produced their CD “NACU SBBOCCL”, a work that was positively reviewed by critics, and led them to receiving an invitation to perform at the three After Shows of “Musicultura Festival”.
In 2005 they were finalists at the fourth International Festival of silent cinema set to live music, supported by the UNESCO initiative “Strade del cinema”, composing and interpreting the soundtrack of the film “A woman” by Charlie Chaplin. In 2005, with the collaboration of the actor Lenny Ciotti, they also produced the show “Le citt? invisibili” (The invisible cities), based on the text by Italo Calvino.
In 2006, they produced the show “I’M ANITa plays Maya Deren”, setting live music to three films by the great American director. In 2006 at the “Rimusicazioni film festival di Bolzano” (a festival where participants compose a soundtrack for an old film), they gained a mention and subsequent screening for the composition and editing of a soundtrack for the film “Le Retour ? la raison” by Man Ray.
In 2007 they won the First Prize at the “Moviemento: Festival delle creazioni sonore per le immagini" (a festival of sound creations for images) of Naples, with the addition of a soundtrack to “At Land” by Maya Deren.
"Trio" is an excellent example of their work, and collects some of the many works they have composed through the years.
