Amelia Bloom

About Amelia Bloom: Hi guys, welcome to my bio. Hey, can I ask you something, why are you reading this? What inspired you to take this typical piece of paper and give it your attention? Is it because you might find me interesting?

Well who am I? My name is Amelia Bloom I’m a 14 y/o girl in year 7, 2007, and live in Melbourne, Australia.

So what makes me interesting well … First and foremost I am a very family orientated girl I love the people who I am closet too very much. So let me explain I love to look after my little sister Miranda, she is just the best, my big sister Bree, is the one to turn to when feeling down or in need of encouragement.

I also love to act, dance and watch funny movies, some of my favourites include Love Actually, 20 First Dates, Step Up, Raise Your Voice and Cheaper by the dozen. But above all that I love to sing and write songs! … Yeah it’s what I do ?

You know something; I think I have a sixth sense. I new as early as 4 years of age, that what I wanted to do in life was something big. At four years of age I went for my first audition, it was for an international TV commercial about air conditioning, I GOT THE PART… but to my big disappointment, a few days before filming they decided it was a job for a boy so I missed out. I did get parts over the next few years, advertising cordials, tyres, the 2000 Olympics and a few extra-spots on our local soapie, Neighbours. Half a dozen gigs from maybe 20 auditions is certainly a test of your skills and abilities at the best of times.

Lessons of acting and dancing became a part of my weekly timetable at this stage (I’ve still got my first ballet trophy... how cute!) at the ripe old age of 9 ½ lol I started singing lessons at the “Jaanz School of Singing” and had the opportunity to met some great people and to perform on stage on a regular basis. I always felt at home and very natural on stage and it soon became one of my favourite things to do.
Whether it’s playing guitar, singing or listening to others, I am driven by rhythm and melody, and the emotions that are exchanged.

At one of the Jaanz concert there was somebody in the audience who I now call my manager! ? His name is Michael Puskas and he is the CEO of Astral Records/Dead Famous artists and as one of the judges in the audience he awarded me the encouragement award for best new talent of 2005. I have weekly song writing sessions with him were I learn about structure and the in and outs, and the ups and downs of the entertainment industry.

This understanding of music has helped to shape my direction and my focus on who I want to be, and where I want to go in this business today. Like any normal girl I love to hang out with my friends, go to the movies chase the ice-cream man, and enjoy our weekly dose of the cute dudes on TV. I’m proud to say that I’m a bit popular gal among my social group. I’m confident in my studies and I thrive on a challenge, no matter what that might be, I’m always up for it… SO BRING IT ON!

Now you know the back ground lets talk about what’s coming up next! One of the songs we wrote together is going to be the theme song for “Callabar Stone Age Warrior”, which is this new and very different kids style of fantasy series, having been earmarked for network television in the latter half of 2008.

Management presented me and some of my original songs to a number of labels and producers in the USA. The reaction was inspiring to say the least. As a result, we have now secured the services of platinum producer, Gerry Stober in LA and Stuart Epps in the UK to record my debut album ‘Rollercoaster’ which will be 11 tracks of funky pop rock with a fun edge. The good news here is that we have managed to inspire the interest of executives at the Disney Family Entertainment in the US. I recently joined both the My Space, Sonicbids and Pure Volume generations and you can check me out with all my tunes, pics, blogs and heaps more at my websites.
