About Ittai Rosenbaum: Ittai Rosenbaum, composer, arranger and pianist

Born in 1966 in Jerusalem, Israel. As a child, lived a few years in Siguatepeque, Honduras and later in Santa-Cruz, Bolivia and then back in Israel.
Early musical influences were mainly classical music, American and Latin folk music, some jazz and Israeli folk songs. Later, pop and rock music, jazz and eventually a blend of them all.
Graduated Berklee College of Music with BA. of Mus. degree in commercial arranging, moved back to Israel and wrote music for endless jingles, a few film-scores, music for TV shows and some major scores for ballet and theatre. Performed and recorded with some of Israel’s top pop productions, arranged music and produced a recording for a children opera, composed a song for the Praemium Erasmianum ceremony at the Dutch Royal Palace in Holland and many other commercial and non-commercial music.
During 1994, tired of the commercial music business, Ittai attended the first year at the Bezalel Academy of Arts in Jerusalem in the Architecture dept. Finally, after deciding to stick to music, founded a band named Ilana Eliya and Jabalio, an ethnic band of instrumentalists and singer, performing mainly interpretations of music from Khurdistan. Produced and arranged music for the band’s CD (Released on MCI-Israel 2-84026), for live performances and toured with the group to Italy, Germany and France.

Composed a cycle of pieces for solo piano, a score for theatre, a few pop songs and a score for the Adam-ma dance group and a piece for string orchestra and saz (a Turkish pluck instrument). Ittai was commissioned by the Kaprizma Ensemble for Contemporary Music to write a piece for eight instruments.

Founded the Yellow Submarine Ensemble with guitarist Atcha Bar in 2000 and performed and recorded original jazz music. Among several artists accompanied by the ensemble was be-bop legendary singer Sheila Jordan.

About to release two CD's this year: original music based on ancient Ladino (Jewish-Spanish) songs, performed by an ensemble of a singer, jazz quintet with a string quartet, and a second CD of original chamber music.
