About Detholz!: "Defiantly nerdy and spazzy" - The Onion

"This quintet takes on the seemingly irredeemable and reconstructs it into something alluringly strange." - Greg Kot, Chicago Tribune

"The group's sharp arrangements of palm-muted guitar chugs, perfectly diced analog synth lines and odd meters make it a creepier Midwestern equivalent of Roxy Music." - Time Out Chicago

Laboring happily underground since its inception in 1996, Detholz! has toured extensively in the U.S. and curated the "Jukebox of the Dead" since 1999, an annual Halloween show in Chicago that has been called a "Chicago institution" by the Chicago Reader. Following a controversial performance at the 2003 Cornerstone Music Festival, Detholz! was featured in the critically acclaimed documentary "Why Should the Devil Have All the Good Music," which led to an invitation to join Wilco on their Ghost is Born tour. Detholz! has also been privileged to tour and play with bands such as Danielson Familie, Weird War, Electric Six, Radio 4 and The French Kicks. Individually, members have written, recorded and toured with artists such as Mavis Staples & The Staples Singers, Bobby Conn, and Baby Teeth.
