Brett Staggs

About Brett Staggs: Brett Staggs began writing songs on a horse farm in Williamsport, Pennyslvania. Influenced by the timeless songwriting of Mike Ness, Tom Petty, Bob Dylan, Ryan Adams, Blake Schwarzenbach, and Johnny Cash, he began playing and writing in the Pittsburgh area both as a solo act and with a few bands; The Cool Grand, Eric James, Brody, and The Long Time Darlings. He then moved to Austin in 2005 to continue writing and playing with local bands/songwriters such as Slowtrain, Graham Weber, Ricky Stein, and Nashville songwriter Tommy Womack. Brett had songs used in several local films and had the chance to record at Willy Nelson’s Luck City studio. After moving back to Pittsburgh, Brett has had a song featured in the December issue of Classic Rock Magazine’s CD Compilation as well as in a feature film “Mr. Pleasant.” He released his first full-length solo album at the top of 2011 called “I <3 BS” featuring 20 songs recorded in both Austin and Pittsburgh. From this effort came “Proud Elvis” being put in regular rotation on WYEP, Pittsburgh’s premiere Americana/Indie radio station. Quickly approaching is his next release of 6 new songs entitled “Fearless and Tired."
