About Rene Russell: For the last 20 + years Rene Russell has been entertaining audiences with her unique 12-string picking style and her rich, powerful voice from East Coast to West Coast. Now residing in Charleston SC, she has lived in Nashville, where she performed at the Blue Bird Cafe, as well as Atlanta, Austin and San Diego, performing at colleges, bistros, nightclubs and festivals. She has also opened for performers such as , “The Indigo Girls, Ellen James Society, Tom Chapin, Danielle Howle and Jennifer Nettles Band (better known as SugarLand) to name a few.
Rene’s debut album; “Last Night I Rode A Night-Mare”, (cassette format only) cut in 1990. In 1995 she recorded her second album, (CD Format) self titled “Rene Russell”, recorded at The Fire Station in San Marcos, TX. She is currently working on her 3rd album, Free-Verse, set for release in late 2014.
