About Tess Henley: Tess Henley is definitely not your average soul singer/songwriter. During her first 2 years in the business, she’s managed to get her debut CD featured at Tower Records (Japan) and added to store rotations in America (Starbucks, GAP, Armani) and Europe. Tess also became a new artist on the popular radio site Pandora after winning the Best Local Band Contest for the NW United States’ largest radio station.
Her brother Carson Henley, (also on YouLicense), co-wrote and sings on many tracks that were awarded a TOP 25 CD by Indie-Music.com!
Tess displays her emotional voice and earthy vibe that refines the tapestry of R and B and neo-soul into a smooth silk. Tess writes addictive, musically rich songs that soothe the soul of young and old alike. She confidently peels away her quiet side and lets the listener in, writing about a youthful look at love won (Fool With You, Easy to Love), love lost (Hitting Me Hard Now) and love somewhere in between (Complicated). Sharing a story to which many of us can relate, you can feel her heartache after a first love in Disguise, while Pompi's Song, complete with Seattle gospel singers, is a touching tribute to her late grandfather who “inspired her with humility and grace”.
Henley, an admitted perfectionist, says with a smile: “that (CD) project was all about hard work and long hours, but when I see everyone having a good time at our live shows, it makes it all worth while.”
