General
What is this site?
YouLicense is an online music licensing marketplace. We have developed a platform which enables artists and those seeking musical content to conduct business directly with one another in a safe and secure environment. YouLicense utilizes a unique search engine and provides standardized contracts which allow for a quick and easy process.
Who’s behind YouLicense?
We’re a team of music professionals and internet entrepreneurs. Our aim is to create the biggest online music licensing marketplace to cater to artists and business professionals alike in the most secure way possible.
Is this stock music?
No. Stock music companies purchase the license to a song and resell it. We are simply providing a safe and professional platform to conduct business through.
Are you a production library?
No. As opposed to production libraries, YouLicense is non-exclusive and the artist is in control of the sale at all stages. We do not resell music on any other platforms or offline programs.
Are you a music publisher?
No. Whereas a music publisher’s primary job is to represent songwriters and to find various uses for their songs, YouLicense simply offers another avenue for finding potential licensing deals and can be used whether you are an independent artist or a publisher representing many artists.
How much does YouLicense cost?
You can sign up for FREE. It does not cost anything to set up an account with YouLicense. The only fee associated with our site is the commission which is charged directly from the artist, once and only when a deal has been agreed upon by both sides.
What commission does YouLicense take?
A 9% commission will be charged directly from the artist once a deal has been agreed upon by both sides.
Who can join YouLicense?
Anyone. click here to register on YouLicense today to upload music, search for musical content to purchase and more!

Song Description
What is 'Describe a Song'?
In order to provide music buyers the best content suited for their project you will need to describe the songs you upload to allow our search engine to find it more efficiently. You will need to go to 'My Songs', and click the 'edit' button which is next to the name of the song and describe the song as accurately as you can. Tip: Describing a song accurately increases the chances of it being sold.
What is 'Instrumental'?
The 'Instrumental' category is only for songs containing music without vocals.
What is a 'Complete Song'?
The 'Complete Song' category is for songs that are ready to be licensed and have already been recoded and mastered (as opposed to a simpler Demo recording).
What is a 'Beat'?
The 'Beat' category is for tracks that consist mainly of a drum beat and no instruments or vocals. This is very useful for rappers looking for a beat to rap over as well as pop artists who need a backing track.
What is 'Ringtone'?
The 'Ringtone' category is for tunes that were written to be mobile phone ringtones.
What is File Format?
Here you can check the box/boxes of the file format(s) in which your music is available. Once a song has been licensed, the buyer will decide which file format the artist will send.
